What if you wrote a book, but never really wrote the book?
Our next GIANT project has to do with book authoring. Lots of you have purchased my books over the years. The Senior Solution: A Family Guide to Keeping Seniors Home for Life has by far been the highest seller among consumers. (find it at amazon.com)
I have been asked to ghost write books for several people, but only did it once, and frankly never had the time after that.
However, we have decided to "sell the rights" so to speak to the interior of "The Senior Solution" and let other people put their names on it as the author. I know that sounds a little crazy...but here's how it works....
The new book will have a different title (we have already determined the title), and 3 new book cover templates to choose from. Our client (meaning any of you) would simply fill out a questionaire that changes all of the personal and copyright information in the book to YOU as opposed to ME. Your organization's logo (if desired) goes on the book cover, and your picture and bio goes on the cover. etc etc.
You get 500-750 copies of the book and rights to a certain territory around your office- maybe 50-100 miles (haven't decided). So that no one else can buy the same rights to the book in your area.
You can't sell the book. You can't re-sell the book. This is a HUGE credibility booster, and is meant to be used strictly as a give-away to prospects, clients, leads, and referral sources. After all, which referal source is NOT going to give you their business once they have YOUR book in their hands!?
This is not "as told by" or "co-authored by" or "compiled by", this is REALLY a book written BY you.
We walk you through the entire process....no guesswork on your end.
I have everything ready to go to put this out on the world wide web, but we are waiting on final sample covers.
This is not a cheap adventure...although typically ghost writing can cost $30,000 or more we are looking at the ballpark of $5000 for 500 books. That's about $10.00 a piece, which doesn't sound too bad.
It doesn't matter what TYPE of senior service or elder care service you provide, we modify the book to highlight that service.

I think this is a totally awesome idea, Valerie. Most of us, (I will speak for myself here) don't even have time to keep up with our normal work, marketing and networking never mind the thought of attempting or thinking about the complexities of writing a book about our profession and service offerings. Yes, it is a bit expensive; however, I do know local publishers that charge as you said $20-$30,000 to sit with you and take notes and edit the manuscript, or you can submit it typed out yourself and they will edit it prior to printing, and it is a little less money, but I think this is a fantastic opportunity.
I don't know where I will get the $$, but I think I will ask some of my 'angels' that have assisted me with projects in the past to see if they would be willing to sponsor (Pay for) this on my behalf. What are the chances of ever having this opportunity again? I’m going to work on getting a donor. . . I will keep you posted.

Valerie, I am so grateful to have found you and the wealth of information you provide. It's really amazing the innovative approach to marketing that you come up with in order to assist us in our businesses. I am very new to this field but very excited and anxious. This is by far an incredible idea!!! I have always longed to become an author but never had the time or the means to actually put a book together. Please keep me posted, I would also like to make this investment...It's definately worth it!!!
